International law firm Pinsent Masons is
advising the administrators of uniform and work-wear manufacturer
Alexandra PLC (the "Company"), after the Gloucestershire-based
company went into administration last week.
The Company had been trying to raise new
funds, but following unsuccessful negotiations to secure additional
finance, the Company's directors called in partners from
PricewaterhouseCoopers to act as joint administrators of the
Company.
The Company, which supplies work clothing to a
number of industries including the travel, hospitality, healthcare,
industrial and retail sectors, employs nearly 500 people at
locations across the UK, including its headquarters in Thornbury,
South Gloucester, as well as sites in Bristol, Swindon, Langley,
Edinburgh and Uddingston, near Glasgow.
The Pinsent Masons team, which is led by
Richard Williams and Peter Soliman, will be advising the
administrators on a number of key issues as the administrators
continue to trade the business and ultimately look to sell the
business as a going concern.
